Telomerase RNA component (TERC) is a gene that encodes a non-coding RNA that serves as a template for the telomere repeat TTAGGG. Amplification is observed in cancers such as squamous cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and esophageal cancer (cBio; Cerami et al. 2012; Gao et al. 2013).
