Genes

TEC

Tec protein tyrosine kinase (TEC) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as a non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase. The protein plays a role in the intracellular signaling mechanisms of cytokine receptors, lymphocyte surface antigens, heterotrimeric G-protein coupled receptors, and integrin molecules. Fusions, missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, frameshift deletions and insertions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as intestinal cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.
