Ribosomal protein S6 kinase, polypeptide 1 (RPS6KB1) is a gene that encodes a protein that belongs to the ribosomal S6 kinase serine/threonine kinase family. The protein functions in mTOR signaling, protein synthesis, cell growth, and cell proliferation. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions and insertions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and stomach cancer.
