Genes

NOD1

Nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain containing 1 (NOD1) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as a cytosolic protein. The protein is involved in apoptotic signaling, protein-protein interactions, and initiating inflammatory responses to bacteria. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions and insertions are observed in cancers such as endometrial cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.
