MTHFR

Methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (NAD(P)H) (MTHFR) is a gene that encodes a protein that catalyzes the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a co-substrate for homocysteine remethylation to methionine. Missense mutations, silent mutations, nonsense mutations, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers such as stomach cancer, endometrial cancer, and colon cancer.
