Histone cluster 1, H1d (HIST1H1D) is a gene that encodes a protein that belongs to the histone H1 family. The protein binds to linker DNA between nucleosomes that form chromatin fibers. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers such as adrenal cancer, bone cancer, and endometrial cancer.
