Genes

GTSE1

G-2 and S-phase expressed 1 (GTSE1) is a gene that encodes a protein that is expressed in the S and G2 phases of the cell cycle. The protein gathers in the nucleus in response to DNA damage and binds to p53 to repress its ability to initiate apoptosis. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions and insertions are observed in cancers such as intestinal cancer, skin cancer, and stomach cancer.
