EXOSC6

Exosome component 6 (EXOSC6) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as a subunit of the exosome – a multi-subunit particle that mediates mRNA degradation. Although known to be a functioning component of the exosome, the exact role of the protein is unknown. Missense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers such as adrenal cancer, intestinal cancer, and skin cancer.
