ERBB receptor feedback inhibitor 1 (ERRFI1) is a gene that encodes a protein that functions as a negative regulator of several EGFR family members by inhibiting EGFR catalytic activity and autophosphorylation. The protein also regulates responses to steroid hormones in the uterus. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions and insertions are observed in cancers such as bone cancer, liver cancer, and skin cancer.
