E2F transcription factor 1 (E2F1) is a
gene that encodes a member of the E2F family of transcription factors that functions in the
regulation of the cell cycle and the actions of tumor suppressor proteins. Missense mutations,
nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift insertions are observed in cancers such as
endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and skin cancer.
