DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box helicase 6 (DDX6) is a gene
that encodes a protein that functions as an
RNA helicase in P-bodies and stress granules.
The protein is also involved in translation suppression, mRNA degradation,
and microRNA-induced gene silencing. Fusions,
missense mutations, nonsense mutations, silent mutations, and frameshift deletions are observed in cancers
such as endometrial cancer, intestinal cancer, and skin cancer.
