B-cell CLL/lymphoma 6 (BCL6) is a gene
that encodes a protein that is a zinc finger
transcription factor. The protein functions in transcriptional repression and the
regulation of interleukin dependent responses in B-cells. Missense mutations, nonsense mutations,
silent mutations, frameshift insertions and
deletions, and in-frame deletions are observed in cancers such as esophageal cancer, intestinal
cancer, and stomach cancer.
